Although I was not
focusing on using the style academy exercise to revise my issues paper, I found
that it helped quite a lot in the reflecting process. I chose to study the manipulation of sentence
parts for effect. I found the video extremely
helpful because it really just added to the last exercise I did on phrases and
clauses. I feel like knowing both of
these skills will definitely help me in the future.
After revising my issues paper, I was able to use this
study to reflect on what went well. A
major focus for me with my issues paper was to stay completely clear with what
I was presenting. I felt that I was able
to do so in the way in which I formed my sentences and paragraphs. The purpose of manipulating sentences for
effect is something which I feel that I've been working on all semester, but
more mindfully after doing this exercise.
Doing this manipulation of sentence parts exercise really helped me
understand what I've been doing well and what I can do better.
